More than a hundred dachshunds competed in a race called the "Wiener 500" in Washington DC ahead of Octoberfest. The annual event is in its seventh year, brought not only for the enjoyment of dogs and owners alike, but also for charitable purposes. All the funds, raised at the competition will be donated to the "Humane Rescue alliance” organization, which helps to find the dogs for adoption.
