Studios Say They'll Reconsider Working In Georgia After Abortion Law

Description

Major Hollywood film and TV studios said Thursday they'd reconsider filming productions in Georgia if the state's newest abortion law takes effect. On Wednesday, Walt Disney Co CEO Bob Iger said many people will not want to work in Georgia if the law is implemented. WarnerMedia, CBS Corp, Viacom Inc, NBCUniversal and ** The Walking Dead** producer weighed in Thursday to agree. The state law would ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, at about six weeks into a pregnancy. The law is set to take effect on Jan. 1. Blockbuster movies including Disney’s **Black Panther** and **Avengers: Endgame** have been filmed in Georgia. The state currently employs more than 92,000 people in the entertainment business, according to the Motion Picture Association of America.
