At the restart, the 22-year-old demonstrated his experience by defending his front position and gradually extended his advantage on the 4.574-kilometre racetrack lap by lap. As a consequence, van Lagen (NL/Förch Racing) was unable to put any serious pressure on his compatriot. The Förch driver crossed the finish in second place after 16 laps 0.6 seconds behind ten Voorde. “My start was super and decisive for second place. In the last laps I was able to reduce the gap a little, but over the weekend Larry ten Voorde was faster than me,” said van Lagen.
