US Air Force Deploys F-22 Stealth Fighters To Middle East Amid Tension With Iran

According to a report by Business Insider, US F-22 stealth fighters have returned to the Middle East to 'defend American forces and interests' at a time of high tension with Iran, although it is unclear whether the advanced jets have been deployed as part of the ongoing deterrence mission or for some other purpose.

  • Air Force Deploys Modern Fighters With NATO In Europe

    The U.S. Air Force deployed the top-of-the-line F-22 fighter to Europe for the second time in a year in a show of commitment to NATO allies. The U.S. European Command announced Monday that F-22 Raptors from 95th Fighter Squadron at Tyndall Air Force Base arrived at Royal Air Force Lakenheath in England for a deployment that will last into next month. The Raptors also will visit other NATO bases in Europe for training opportunities and to deter any actions that destabilize regional security. It is the second deployment for from Tyndall to Europe in the past nine months. Last August, the twin-engine jets, which cost about $143 million each, were sent to Germany.
