Dead Whale Found With Over 80 Pounds Of Plastic Bags In Stomach

Marine biologists were stunned to find that a dead male Cuvier’s beaked whale that washed up in the Philippines had ingested more than 80 pounds of plastic bags. The D’Bone Collector Museum in Davao City, in the Philippine island of Mindanao said in a Facebook post Sunday that they found “40 kilograms (about 88 pounds) of plastic bags, 16 rice sacks, four banana plantation-style bags, and multiple shopping bags” in the whale’s stomach after conducting an autopsy.
