EU Announces Speeding Limiter For Vehicles

Description

According to Business Insider, the European Union has proposed a new mandate for automotive safety features. EU leaders announced that new vehicles sold in Europe after 2022 must be equipped with an intelligence speed assistance system to prevent speeding. The new rules also require car manufacturers to outfit vehicles with crash data sensors and reversing cameras as standard equipment. The European Commission set out plans last year to curb car crashes for highway safety, which are commonly caused by human error. But the newly mandated rules must pass the European Parliament before they are formally adopted.
