Ex-Coach Of Yale Women's Soccer Pleads Guilty In Scandal

Description

Reuters reports that the former head coach of women’s soccer at Yale University has admitted to accepting bribes from prospective student's parents. Rudolph “Rudy” Meredith, pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to conspiracy and wire fraud charges in the U.S. college admissions scandal. Meredith is among 50 people, including actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, charged with participating in the admissions scheme. College admissions counseling service operator Rick Singer is charged with spearheading the entire bribery operation. Prosecutors said Singer charged wealthy parents hefty sums and then used bribes to secure admission for their children to universities. Singer pleaded guilty on March 12 to charges including racketeering conspiracy and is cooperating with investigators.
