If you happen to be flying over Italy's Verona region, you might see a giant work of art in honor of the Rio Olympics from the sky. "Land artist" Dario Gambarin paid tribute to the upcoming Olympics in Rio on Tuesday, by carving a huge earth mural in a field that stretches for nearly 600 feet. The artwork depicts Rio's Christ the Redeemer statue holding five Olympic rings just in time for the Rio Olympics opening ceremony on August 6.

A new cargo train will connect Italy and China directly, and the first service departed from the northern Italian city of Mortara on Tuesday, bound for China's Chengdu. The 11,000-killometer, or 6,800 mile, route stretches across the territories of Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan before crossing all of Western China to arrive in Chengdu. The trip takes around 18 days, almost 20 days less than shipping the cargo by sea. The train consists of 17 coaches and 34 containers which can carry equipment, electronics, furniture, and cars.

The trip was Xi's first to Vietnam in six years, and the two nations committed to deeper ties and signed more than 30 agreements, including a pledge to develop rail links between Vietnam and China. Belarus president Alexander Lukashenko lands in China where he is set to meet with the country's president Xi Jinping. Earlier, the Belarusian presidency announced that Lukashenko would hold talks with Xi on issues including "trade, the economy, investment and international cooperation." Lukashenko was last in China at the end of February and early March, a visit that was closely scrutinised following Russia's offensive in Ukraine. IMAGES
