    A Russian man had a rude awakening when he found his car buried under a massive snowbank in the northern Siberian city of Norilsk on Thursday. The temperature was -31 degrees Celsius, or -23.8 degrees Fahrenheit, and heavy blizzards formed the literal mountain of snow, which completely at his auto. The car owner diligently dug for over two hours to finally free the car from the snowdrift.

  • Three People Rescued from Car Roof After Hurricane Matthew Flood

    Police in North Carolina had their hands full dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, which brought heavy rains and major floods to the coastal state. Many civilians became stuck in the torrential flooding and police were called to hundreds of emergency situations. Three unlucky people were caught in the flooding while driving in their car and had to climb up onto the roof and wait for emergency responders to save them in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Two men and a woman waited on top of a Ford SUV, after nearly 15 inches of rain fell during Hurricane Matthew's landfall. At around 7.30 pm local time, a rescue team helped the trio off the car and into safety on a boat. Since its arrival in the Caribbean, Hurricane Matthew has caused mass damage in Haiti, killing at least 877, destroying some 80 percent of homes in the country's Sud department. According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs at least 350,000 people on the island are in need of assistance. The US National Hurricane Centre have downgraded the initially Category Four hurricane to a Category One after wind speeds decreased below 75 miles per hour.
