According to Huff Post Life, Stephen Leatherman's "Dr. Beach" list is out. Leatherman, a coastal scientist and Florida International University professor, has released an annual list of top American beaches since 1991. He uses 50 criteria to evaluate beaches, like water cleanliness, safety and beach environment management. Some of the top 'Dr. Beach' approved beaches include: 1. Kailua Beach Park, Oahu, Hawaii 2. Coopers Beach, South Hampton, New York 3. Coronado Beach, San Diego, California 4. Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts
