Sudan's Intelligence Chief Quits, Protesters Keep Up Pressure

Description

According to Reuters, Sudan’s security and intelligence chief quit on Saturday, a day after the defense minister stepped down abruptly as interim leader following the overthrow of President Omar al-Bashir. The intelligence chief, known as Salah Gosh, was held responsible by protesters for the killing of demonstrators demanding an end to military rule. The defense Minister also stepped down as head of the transitional military council, as protesters demanded faster political change.
