Seoul, Apr 30 (EFE/EPA).- The South Korean Buddhist community lit up lanterns as the country marked the Buddha's birthday on Thursday. Each year on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, the Lotus Lantern Festival celebrates the birth of Buddha and is enjoyed by thousands of people in the weeks leading up to the birthday celebration.The festival involves a parade, a lantern exhibition in parks and temples, information booths showcasing Buddhist culture, as well as cultural events.
