  • Sony Files Patent For New Game Cartridge

The PlayStation Vita hasn’t been directly supported by Sony for several years, with the company preferring to focus all of its resources on the PlayStation 4. However, it appears game cartridges still have some place at Sony, if a recent patent filing is any indication. It doesn’t appear like anything we’ve seen from a video game system before, with a large round hole on one side and a port at the bottom of the other. Just a year ago, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House — now departed — said that there “wasn’t a huge market opportunity” for a dedicated handheld gaming system outside of Japan.

  • Sony Has An Interesting VR Patent In The Works

We’ve all seen futuristic movies and their take on virtual reality. We’re getting much closer to that with each day, but we’re still a long way away from that truly responsive platform were all we need is hand motion to control everything. It seems that Sony is planning to break into the market with an interesting kind of tech. If it will actually be made, gone will be the ‘magic stick’ controllers. Instead, PlayStation VR gamers will be able use a virtual reality glove that will follow the movement of their hand and fingers. For most, that’s essentially the true controller of a VR platform. It’s doubtful that many of us, when we imagined virtual reality, that we pictured it will come with some wands. The patent notes that the Glove Interface Object (GIO) will enable the user “to interact with an interactive application, such as a video game”.

  • Kendall Jenner Files Trademark for Beauty Brand

Kendall Jenner has gone ahead and decided to start her own beauty line. On the heels of her Proactiv campaign and range of dental care, WWD reports that Jenner has taken steps toward launching her own beauty line. According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Jenner filed a trademark on May 2 for two potential brands named "Kendall" and "Kendall Jenner." Both trademarks cover a range of beauty products across skin, hair, makeup, and fragrance. The application reportedly carves out a space for a Kendall Jenner "eau de parfum, hair-care preparations, bath and shower gels, body creams, skin cleansers, beauty masks, deodorant, lip gloss, nail polish, nail-care preparations," and more. Jenner herself hasn't confirmed or even hinted at the news just yet.
