New Study Shows Great White Sharks Fear Killer Whales

Geek.com reports a new study suggests great white sharks are afraid of killer whales. According to new findings published in Nature, great white sharks moved away from killer whales, also known as orcas, while swimming near the Farallon Islands off the coast of San Francisco. Lead author of the study, Salvador Jorgensen, said, “When confronted by orcas, [great] white sharks will immediately vacate their preferred hunting ground and will not return for up to a year, even though the orcas are only passing through.
