Want to buy the new Chromecast or the upcoming Apple TV? You won't be able to get them from Amazon. As first reported by Bloomberg, Amazon is planning on dropping streaming devices that don't work with its Prime Video streaming service as of Oct. 29. According to Bloomberg, Amazon sent an email to its marketplace sellers letting them know that no new listings for Apple TV or Chromecast products would be allowed and that existing listings would be removed as of Oct. 29.
Amazon.com next month will launch Prime Instant Video in Japan — adding the streaming service for no extra cost to members of the free-shipping program — in a challenge to Netflix, set to launch Sept. 2 in the country. In Japan, Amazon Prime Instant Video will include popular Japanese and U.S. dramas, variety shows, anime, movies and more, with details to be announced in the coming weeks. The content also will include Amazon Studios’ original series such as “Transparent,” “Mozart in the Jungle” and “Tumble Leaf.” Amazon currently offers unlimited streaming-video to Prime members in three countries: the U.S., the U.K. and Germany. Jasper Cheung, president of Amazon Japan, said in a statement. “We’ve been offering videos and DVDs in Japan for 15 years — we know the entertainment customers want — and we plan to deliver it with Prime Video, all at no additional cost.”

These will be followed by further models over the course of 2024, such as the BMW X2 and all models in the new MINI family.The Video App is currently accessible in the USA, UK, South Korea, France, Italy, Germany and Spain, and will soon be coming to Japan. A number of portals are available internationally, including Pluto TV, Bloomberg, TED, Yahoo! and Chili. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that Disney+'s ability to cope with the pandemic and release new content is "super impressive." According to Business Insider Hastings is hoping that Netflix can catch up with Disney's family animation content, like "Soul." Netflix said it plans to expand on its 200 million subscribers as it improves it explores new distribution avenues.
HBO Max, the new subscription-based movie streaming service, is now available for $14.99 per month. The Warnermedia streaming service is offering a 20% discount for new and returning members if you prepay 6 months. HBO Max will give subscribers access to everything on HBO, as well as new exclusive series. According to Business Insider, the streaming service will also include hundreds of movies and TV shows. Warner Bros. will also be releasing its entire 2021 roster of movies on HBO Max at the same time the films premiere in theaters. The 2021 releases will include potential blockbusters like Dune and the newest installment in the Matrix franchise.
On Tuesday, Amazon announced Tuesday that it's hiring 100,000 seasonal workers ahead of the holidays. The company said it's looking for workers across experience and skill levels to help pack and ship holiday orders. Business Insider reports that the new roles bring Amazon's total hiring to more than 400,000 since March. The company has faced a rise in online orders amid the coronavirus pandemic. In 2019, the company added 200,000 new jobs, double the year prior, to help the company sort orders and make deliveries.
