Assange Arrested In London After Ecuadorian Government Revokes His Asylum

Description

According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was arrested by British police and carried out of the Ecuadorean embassy after his South American hosts revoked his seven-year asylum, paving the way for his possible extradition to the United States. Police reportedly said that they arrested Assange after being invited into the embassy following the Ecuadorean government's decision to withdraw Assange's asylum. Reuters reports that police later said that the Wikileaks founder had been arrested a second time following an extradition request by the United States.
