Russia Offers Assistance To Venezuela, Cuba To Help Weather U.S. Sanctions

According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia considers new US sanctions on Venezuela and Cuba to be illegal and plans to do everything in its power to support allies in Caracas and Havana. On Wednesday, US national security advisor John Bolton announced a series of new sanctions on Cuba and Venezuela, as the Trump administration reportedly looks to increase pressure on Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro, as well as, the countries that support him.
