Governor Of Alabama Signs Abortion Ban Law

Description

On Wednesday Alabama Governor Kay Ivey signed a bill to ban all abortions in the state, even in cases of rape and incest. Reuters reports that this is the latest bid by political conservatives challenging the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision that established a woman’s right to terminate her pregnancy. U.S. abortion-rights activists had already vowed to go court to block enforcement of the Alabama measure, which ranks as the nation’s strictest anti-abortion law.
