The market for mobility services emerged about ten years ago with projections reaching nearly 11 billion euros in 2020. Opportunities are many, and Groupe Renault is heavily involved in identifying and developing new shared mobility services across the board.As the micro-mobility landscape undergoes a sea change, Groupe Renault unveils EZ-POD, an exploratory electric and autonomous vehicle for on-demand travel over short distances. Designed for people transportation or good delivery, Renault EZ-POD maximizes usage relative to the space it takes-up (3 m2).Like electric scooters (for which the regulations are still evolving) or the bicycle, Renault EZ-POD is a limited-speed micro-mobility solution. It’s also autonomous, inclusive and safe. There are a host of applications where the Renault EZ-POD’s agility makes it ideal. Where a shuttle runs along pre-defined routes, several pods can be combined to pick up travellers and bring them to their destination. Because pods are small and drive slowly, they are less obtrusive in a crowded urban environment – making these robo-vehicles flexible in use and socially acceptable.
Derived from the New Clio R.S. Line, whose expressive and sporty styling are carried over with its front bumper with F1-styled blade, Renault Sport Racing's latest creation designed for customer competition also inherits its versatile chassis to be available in three versions. After a year of development where reliability, performance and cost control have been the watchwords, the new competition Clio will offer unparalleled versatility. Despite their bank of common organs, the Clio Cup, Clio Rally and Clio RX will be three proper race cars specifically designed for their specialties.
Renault has unveiled the all new Triber crossover. The car is under 4-metres in length, come with a 1-litre petrol engine and 72bhp and will come in 5-6 and 7-seat options. The car will go on sale around August-September this year.
A new look and improved cabin quality are the highlights of the revised new Renault Trafic mid-sized panel vanRenault has pulled the covers off the revised Trafic van. The new model, one of Europe's top-selling mid-sized van is getting an overhaul to keep it competitive in a sector which has seen the Vauxhall Vivaro switch from sharing tech with the Trafic to being based on the Citroen Dispatch and Peugeot Expert.The revised Trafic gets a subtle new look with styling cues borrowed from the Renault passenger car range, with C-shaped daytime running lights and a new grille design, while top-spec models also benefit from full LED headlamps. Also available is a new 'Urban Grey' matte paint finish.
The Paris-Saclay Autonomous Lab project was initiated by Groupe Renault, Groupe Transdev, IRT SystemX, Institut VEDECOM and the University of Paris-Saclay.Its purpose is to develop new autonomous (i.e. driverless) mobility services using dedicated lane and public and campus streets to supplement the existing Saclay Plateau transportation systems.The Paris-Saclay Autonomous Lab was inaugurated on 15 May 2019 at the SPRING 2019 innovation event by Grégoire de Lasteyrie, Île-de-France Regional Councillor, Special Delegate responsible for New Mobility and Mayor of Palaiseau; Francisque Vigouroux, Vice-President of the Paris-Saclay urban community responsible for Mobility and Transportation and Mayor of Igny; and Michel Bournat, Mayor of Gif-sur-Yvette and President of the Paris-Saclay urban community. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Thierry Mallet, Chairman and CEO of Groupe Transdev; Arnaud Molinié, Senior Vice President, Mobility Services, Groupe Renault; Paul Labrogere, CEO, IRT SystemX; Sylvie Retailleau, President of the University of Paris-Saclay; Philippe Watteau, Managing Director, VEDECOM; and Elizabeth Crepon, Director, ENSTA.
