    On Monday, a man who back in 2013, opened fire at Los Angeles International Airport with an assault rifle, killing a TSA agent and wounding three other people, received a sentence of life in prison plus 60 years without parole. Back in September this year, 26-year-old Paul Anthony Ciancia pleaded guilty to murder of a federal officer and 10 other criminal counts under a deal that avoided the death penalty. The shooting was the worst incident at LAX since 2002, when an Egyptian-born gunman murdered a flight attendant and a passenger aboard a pane before being shot and killed.

Watts was arrested in mid-August, after initially reporting that his wife and daughters were missing. But investigators never believed Watts, and his changing tale of how his family died. He ultimately pleaded guilty to murdering them. The 33-year-old pleaded guilty to avoid the death penalty.

  • Dylann Roof Pleads Guilty To State Charges

    The convicted Charleston church shooter has pleaded guilty to state charges of murder. Dylann Roof was convicted late last year in a federal trial related to the deadly shooting at the Emanuel AME Church in June, 2015. The 23-year-old was convicted on 33 federal charges, and received the death penalty. The guilty plea in his state trial proceedings will likely leave him awaiting his execution in federal prison. The deal Roof agreed to with state prosecutors included a life sentence.
