The Republican National Committee paid $300,000 for copies of Donald Trump Jr's new book, Liberal Privilege. The books will be given away to party donors. The Daily Beast reports that $300,000 is the largest ever paid by the RNC for books to be given away to party donors. According to Business Insider the RNC bulk purchase of Trump's last book, Triggered, helped boost its place on bestseller lists.
Barbara Res is a real estate executive who once worked for now-President Donald Trump, overseeing construction and development for the Trump Organization. Res says Trump refused to listen to expert advice, hired unqualified people based on their loyalty to him, disrespected his employees, and used racist language. According to Business Insider, Res says Trump once complained to her about seeing a Black construction laborer working on one of his Trump Tower buildings. Res says Trump told her, 'I don't want people thinking Trump Towers are being built by Black people.' She added that Trump also said he didn't want Black people lounging in his building lobbies, because 'millionaires are coming into my apartments.'
Bastiaan Slabbers/Reuterss Four Seasons Total Landscaping, the suburban garden center where the Trump campaign held a post-election press conference in November, made $1.3 million in merchandise sales, according to its owners. Business Insider spoke to the center's director of sales, Sean Middleton, who said the small family-run business has been working up to 18 hours a day to send 28,000 orders of their official merchandise around the world. Middleton also said that the center has been inundated with visitors, who either want to take selfies or pose for photoshoots at the back of the building.
The NY Times reports that President Donald Trump has had more than $280 million in debt forgiven since 2010. According to Business Insider most of it was linked to money he owed lenders for the construction of a massive skyscraper in Chicago. Trump borrowed money for the Trump International Hotel & Tower from Germany's Deutsche Bank and Fortress Investment Group. Trump failed to pay the money bank. The lenders initially gave him more time. According to tax return records and loan documents viewed by the NY Times eventually Deutsche and Fortress forgave the debt.
Senator Mitt Romney of Utah said on Wednesday that he did not cast a ballot for Trump. He was sharing a bit about his 2020 presidential election choice, according to Business Insider. Romney was a leading GOP presidential candidate in 2008 and served as the party's standard bearer in 2012. Romney was the only Rep. senator who voted to convict Trump in his impeachment trial in 2020. He has shown that loyalty to your party does not mean turning a blind eye to wrongdoing within your party.
