Democrat Rep. Brendan Boyle of Philadelphia let loose on Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas following the deadly riots on Capitol Hill. Boyle issued a profanity-filled tweet at Cruz after Cruz accused Democrats of attempting to make political hay out of the melee. On Thursday Utah Congressman-elect Burgess Owens said he will support the challenge to Joe Biden's victory. Owens said he would take to the floor of the House of Representatives and declare his support for President Donald Trump. According to Business Insider Owens contends that there was "no question" that Trump was reelected. Owens said that his goal was "to make sure that I'm doing everything I can to take this to every legal end we have."

Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to unilaterally wipe out billions of dollars worth of student loan debt. Schumer, the Democratic leader in the Senate, had teamed with Warren, a progressive rival-turned-ally of Biden’s, to press Biden on a proposal to eliminate up to $50,000 of student loan debt per borrower.
On Sunday, GOP Sen. John Barrasso said Joe Biden's cabinet nominees are going to face a hard road towards confirmation. According to Politico Barrasson said a Republican-controlled Senate should not expect an easy pathway to confirmation. "It's not going to be a garden party," he said. Barrasso said Biden's nominees will have to "run the gauntlet" towards confirmation. He said Biden's selections resembled a "third term of the Obama administration."
