Donald Trump calls Iran attack "a mistake," calls off retaliation

Description

David Smith reports for France 24 that US news sources The New York Times and The Washington Post both released information "suggesting that Donald Trump did indeed give the go-ahead for some sort of military strike and it went as far as planes being in the air, but then for unexplained reasons it was called off an no missiles were fired." Reports also mention "intense debate" among National Security staff and the White House, with no sign of agreement coming from US Congress either, symbolizing "a day of mixed signals" on all fronts.
