Domino's Pizza is giving its workers over $9.6 million in bonuses this month. The bonuses will be extended to all of Domino's frontline workers, including drivers and store employees. According to Business Insider, each staff member will receive up to $1,200 each. The pizza chain has had an increase in business during the coronavirus pandemic as demand for pizza delivery remains high. This is the second time this year Domino's has given bonuses to its workers.
The first self-driving delivery robot roamed the streets of Austin during the city's SXSW festival, on Monday. The robot, produced by former Skype founders Starship, can deliver food, groceries and small packages for as little as $1 within a 1 mile radius. The six-wheeled robot is able to deliver items up to 3 miles over a period of up to 30 minutes while users are able to follow the robot's route via the smartphone app. The inventors feel confident that the robot's movements are safe for pedestrians and traffic. The delivery robot is already operational in over 60 cities in 5 different countries and its models have already traveled a combined 20,000 miles.
