Mercedes-Benz Vans wants to further expand its position as a leading manufacturer of premium vans. In doing so, the company is consolidating a decisive competitive advantage: the customised diversity of its portfolio for commercial and private use – offering a range of fully electric and conventionally powered vehicles in the small, midsize, and large van segments. The introduction of the modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) from 2026 marks the gradual transition to a focused premium strategy for commercial vans. The new Vito, eVito, Sprinter and eSprinter light commercial vehicles are a key step on this journey. They offer more comfort, safety, and functionality, especially thanks to a plus in intelligent, digital networking. This sets the course for further growth at the upper end of their respective segments.
The first Toyota C-HR was a milestone for both the Toyota brand and the European C-SUV segment. The next generation of the successful model is now being launched. It takes the outstanding quality of its predecessor to a higher level: with avant-garde design, advanced technologies and extensively improved electrified drives that offer higher performance, livelier driving dynamics and an extended electric range. The new model was developed in Europe with European customers in mind and will be built exclusively in Europe, including the assembly of the high-voltage batteries.The first Toyota C-HR was a radical innovation in a highly competitive segment, breaking away from the traditional SUV look with its sharp-edged design that resembles the look of modern sports coupes. With great success: For more than half of the customers, the design of the vehicle was the main reason for the purchase. The C-HR became Toyota's most successful conquest model and helped give the brand a strong emotional dimension, thereby changing public perception of Toyota in Europe.The new generation retains this design, which is reminiscent of a concept car, and combines it with a seamless digital user experience, electrified drives and agile driving characteristics. As such, the new Toyota C-HR has all the qualities to maintain its position as an iconic model, attract new customers and strengthen the Toyota brand in Europe.
Mercedes-Benz will pursue a differentiated strategic approach with its vans in the future. As presented last year (2023), the company is aiming for a premium strategy for its commercial vans. In the future, a focused luxury strategy will apply to all newly developed, privately positioned vans, as is the case for all Mercedes‑Benz passenger cars. The aim is to fully implement this strategic change with the introduction of the upcoming modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture – VAN.EA for short – from 2026. The new private midsize vans EQV and V-Class are an important milestone on this path. Both are further elevated with new exterior and interior designs. There is also an increase in comfort and safety, especially thanks to more intelligent, digital networking. The models have been available to order from Mercedes‑Benz sales partners and online since January 2024. The standard equipment has been comprehensively upgraded and thereby tailored more precisely to customer requirements. The new V-Class starts at a list price of 59,470.25 euros[1], the new EQV from 75,281.78 euros. The new V-Class also forms the basis for the V-Class Marco Polo camper van, which is offered ex factory. It starts at 80,004.89 euros1 and adopts the model's attractiveness almost completely.
