In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, a Land Rover Defender 90 with a unique 007 livery made a winning one-off appearance in the Defender Bowler Challenge in Dolgellau, Wales, driven by Bond stunt driver and rally champion Mark Higgins.
Following a very successful first season of exciting and hard-fought competition, off-road performance specialist Bowler has announced the 2023 Defender Rally Competition. the competition grows within the United Kingdom and beyond its borders. Designed for rookies and veterans alike, Bowler's Defender Rally Competition features 12 teams participating in nine events, including seven competitive rounds featuring identical Defender racing vehicles. Following the first private round, the fully supported teams take part in six rounds of public events where they will develop the driving and organizational skills needed for competitive open motorsport.Building on the popularity of the 2022 Tata Elxsi Bowler Defender Challenge, the Bowler Defender Rally Competition has been expressly designed to offer participants the opportunity to gain automotive experience and knowledge, and enable their progression towards rally events. Bowler has the ability to offer the necessary support and training to enable participants to gain the correct clearance to compete in the UK and around the world.
