The White House releases its proposal for the future borders of Israeli and Palestinian states as part of US President Donald Trump's controversial peace plan. The map provided by the White House shows the West Bank area containing some 15 Israeli settlements, connected to the Gaza Strip area by only a tunnel. SOUNDBITE
The White House says US President Joe Biden told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a call that he still backs future statehood for the Palestinians, amid tensions between the two leaders over the issue. "The president still believes in the promise and the possibility of a two-state solution. Thousands take part in a rally in Trafalgar Square in support of Palestinians and an immediate ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas War, with many holding "Free Palestine" placards whilst chanting "From the river to the sea Palestine shall be free". London has seen large demonstrations on three successive weekends since Hamas gunmen on October 7 killed 1,400 people, mostly civilians, according to Israeli officials. Israeli forces enter the West Bank city of Nablus to demolish the home of Osama Taweel, an alleged Palestinian attacker. Taweel, a prominent member of The Lions' Den militant group was arrested by Israel in February after allegedly shooting dead Israeli soldier Ido Baurch at a West Bank settlement in November. IMAGES
