At least nine people were killed Saturday after a train coach parked in southern India caught fire when a passenger tried to make tea, officials said. The coach, which had been detached from a train, was stationed at the Madurai railway yard in the southern state of Tamil Nadu when the fire broke out before dawn. Local media reports said the passengers had illegally smuggled aboard a gas cylinder which exploded when they tried to use it. IMAGES

Legendary Indian actor Soumitra Chatterjee has died at the age of 85. CNN reports Chatterjee died at Belle Vue Clinic in Kolkata on Sunday, of complications related to COVID-19. The famous protégé of Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray had been in the hospital since October 6th, under the care of a team of 15 of West Bengal's best doctors. An accomplished poet, playwright, and theater actor, Chatterjee's career spanned six decades and 300 movies. Messages from prominent leaders and celebrities came flooding in. India's prime minister Narendra Modi called Chatterjee's death a 'colossal loss.'
Atlanta (USA), Jul 14 (EFE/EPA).- (Camera: Erik Lesser) A private demolition crew tore down the now-infamous burned-out Wendy's restaurant in Atlanta on Tuesday. The site is where Rayshard Brooks was killed on 12 June during a confrontation with two Atlanta Police Department officers.
