Lebanon has paid respect to the victims of both the terror attacks in Beirut and in Paris by illuminating the iconic Pigeon Rock with the French and Lebanese flag. However, not all Lebanese agree that their country should show support for Paris.
Two suspected terrorists have been killed, including a suicide bomber, and seven arrested in a police raid in the Paris district of Saint-Denis. The police has labelled the operation as 'successful' although the identities of the people killed have not yet been revealed.
So far at least 149 people have been killed in shootings and bombings at a number of locations in Paris on Friday night. One explosion was near a sports stadium where Germany and France were playing a soccer match that French president François Hollande was watching.
Deadly floods in Kenya’s capital Nairobi continue to engulf sections of the city’s streets and homes, including in the Mathare slum district, one of the areas most affected. The death toll from the floods has risen to 13, local authorities say, after three bodies were found in the Mathare river that crosses the slum of the same name. IMAGES
