French officials have confirmed that Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Belgian extremist suspected masterminding Friday’s terror attacks in Paris, was killed when authorities raided the Belgian terror cell’s hideout in the Paris suburb of St. Denis.
According to media reports, it has been confirmed the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was among those killed in the St Denis flat siege.
A man allegedly armed with a knife and a bomb belt was shot dead when attempting to attack a Paris police station. Details of the attack, two months after the terrorist attacks in the French capital, continue to emerge.
In an undated video that has surfaced online, a man believed to be suspected Paris attack mastermind, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, tells Muslims to "look for pride and honor - you will only find it in your religion... in jihad." Rough Cut-subtitled (no reporter narration).
One of the officers shot early Thursday morning in southwestern Paris is now dead, according to French police. The other officers remains in critical condition at a Paris hospital. French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve has asked media to exercise caution when relating the incident to the attack on Charlie Hebdo's offices.
