Forest fires fanned by strong winds and high temperatures threaten homes around Athens and in other parts of southern Greece. Jillian Kitchener reports.
Wildfires on the island of Evia have charred vast areas of pine forest, destroyed homes and forced tourists and locals to flee. Blazes also continue to rage in the Peloponnese region in the southwest, but fires in a northern suburb of Athens have subsided. IMAGES
