Al-Humaydat, Jun 13 (EFE/EPA).- The Iraqi authorities announced Sunday that they have dug up the bodies of 123 people believed to be killed by the Islamic State (IS) group from a mass grave site near west of Mosul. Two mass graves with over 500 bodies of victims killed and buried by the IS group were found near the Government Badush prison in Mosul, said the Nineveh's Governor, Najm Al-Jubouri.Badush prison was attacked by IS in June 2014, some 650 Shiite inmates had been killed, the authorities knew of the grave since 2017 when local inhabitants indicated its existence, but wanted to make sure to have the necessary forensic teams to properly identify the victims. Mosul region was under IS control between 2013 and 2017.
