Whilst on board the ISS, an astronaut took 18, 711 photos, one every second, to create this timelapse of a stunning aurora borealis as seen from space. IMAGES
The aurora borealis, or the Northern Lights, are notoriously difficult to predict but residents of northern Finland's Lapland region are being treated to some amazing displays of the dancing lights.
