The International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed Paris as a host city for the 2024 Olympic Games, 100 years after the French capital last staged the event, at a ceremony in Lima on Wednesday. Los Angeles is set to take up the torch in 2028, for the third time, having already hosted the Olympics in 1932 and 1984.
