A police officer and two civilians were killed after a gunman opened fire at a Colorado Springs, Colorado Planned Parenthood center on Friday, according to a New York Times report.

Two people were killed and four were injured when a gunman opened fire inside a public services office in south-eastern Moscow, according to city authorities. In the images published by the Russian Investigative Committee, inspectors are seen working on the crime scene. IMAGES
In 1999, 23-year-old Jennifer Watkins was found, her body wrapped in plastic, in the stairwell of the hospital where she worked. Now, Colorado Springs police report her sexual assault and murder has finally been solved, thanks to DNA collected at the scene. Newser reports that thanks to the help of a public genetic genealogy database, cold case investigators were led to Ricky Severt. Although Severt died in a car crash in 2001, familial DNA collected from his surviving relatives shows Severt cannot be excluded as the prime suspect. Both Watkins and worked at the same hospital. And while Severt cannot be brought to justice, police are sure they've finally found their man. Police officers and civilians ran for cover as sniper fire rained down around the Dallas city center on Thursday. Police announced that a fifth officer had died after being fatally shot by so-far unidentified assailants. Sniper rounds ripped through the Dallas night during a protest against the recent fatal police killings of African Americans Alton Sterling and Philandro Castile. The assailants were apparently targeting police - 11 officers were shot, 5 fatally.
