British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak says that the Middle East needs "calm heads to prevail" after Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israeli territory. "We'll be working with our allies to de-escalate the situation and I look forward to speaking to G7 leaders later this afternoon," Sunak tells reporters in Downing Street. SOUNDBITE
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warns Iran that the United States will respond "decisively" to any attack by its proxies, as tensions rise with the Israel-Hamas war. "The United States does not seek conflict with Iran. We do not want this war to widen. But if Iran or its proxies attack US personnel anywhere, make no mistake. We will defend our people -- we will defend our security -- swiftly and decisively," Blinken tells a UN Security Council session. SOUNDBITE
The United States warns it will take action against companies and nations working with Iran's drone program after Russia used the imports for deadly kamikaze strikes in Kyiv. "The US will not hesitate to use sanctions or take actions against perpetrators," US State Department principal deputy spokesperson Vedant Patel says. SOUNDBITE
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warns the United States has "other options" if diplomacy fails on Iran's nuclear program, as his Israeli counterpart reserved the right to use force during a visit to Washington. SOUNDBITE
