How Did Trump Win?

Description

Well, Donald Trump is now the president elect of the United States. How did that happen? Every news outlet and poll showed that Hillary Clinton would win on November 8th. Trump's win shocked everyone. How did he pull it off? There are several reasons. One was voter apathy. Just 57% of eligible voters went to vote in 2016. The 2016 election had the lowest voter turnout since the 2000 presidential race. Not enough black, latino, or young voters turned out this year to prevent Trump from winning. White voters made up Trump's contingent at the polls. 49% of college educated white voters as well as 53% of white women. While Clinton won popular vote by a razor thin margin, working class white voters turned out in huge numbers for Clinton in swing states like Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
