Amazon exec Dave Clark wants to help vaccinate the country against Covid-19. Clark is offering to help President Joe Biden with the unprecedented vaccination effort. Biden has pledged to vaccinate 100 million Americans in his first 100 days in office. Clark offered Amazon's logistics, communications, and IT expertise in a letter addressed to President Biden. Clark said: "We are prepared to leverage our operations, information technology, and communications capabilities". Clark also requested that Amazon's essential workers be eligible to receive the vaccine at the "earliest appropriate time."
Business Insider reports that Amazon and Barnes & Nobles searches for "vaccine" bring up anti-vaxx books. Two of the top five books in “vaccine” search results on Amazon.com promote anti-inoculation theories. The first such result on Barnes & Noble is a book by Thomas Cowan, who claims the current pandemic was caused by 5G wireless technology. The US could start rolling out COVID-19 shots as early as Friday. President-elect Joe Biden has warned that the public is losing faith in the effectiveness of a vaccine.
Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina is a close ally of Joe Biden. Clyburn said Biden has fallen short in nominating Black figures to top positions in the administration, according to The Hill. "There is only one Black woman so far ... I want to see where the process leads to, what it produces. But so far it's not good." Black voters overwhelmingly backed Biden in both the Democratic primaries and the general election. Business Insider reports that many lawmakers and activists would like to see Black figures represented in key Cabinet positions.
Buenos Aires, Oct 29 (EFE) .- Hiking on the Aconcagua, the highest peak in America and the southern hemisphere, is a goal coveted by adventurers from all over the world and the usual activity of local mountain guides. STATEMENTS BY NILS FONTENLA, MOUNTAIN GUIDE AND MENDOZA DELEGATE OF THE ARGENTINE ASSOCIATION OF MOUNTAIN GUIDES:"On the Aconcagua, the normal access route is on the west or north-west side, it is the easiest with a softer slope. Why so many days? The idea is that our body has to adapt to the altitude, if we wanted to climb everything at once, like Mendoza's 700 meters to the summit of Aconcagua, in a few hours we would have difficulties which could worsen and we could die."
Fitness guru Joe Wicks is reportedly in talks with Channel 4 over a potential daily workout show after the early success of his new YouTube series.
