Clients who step inside Ammar Kalsh's barbershop in Brasilia sometimes head right back out the door when they see that the intrepid entrepreneur cuts hair with an axe. Owner and head barber Ammar Kalsh became an internet sensation in Brazil and somewhat of a local celebrity in the Brazilian capital after being filmed using an axe and hammer to cut people's hair, taking some off the top in a way that has many grabbing for their necks. The Syrian refugee fled his native Damascus in 2014 with only the clothes on his back and $30 to his name, escaping the bloodshed and violence to start a new life in Brazil.
