Ferrari Challenge NA - Un giro al Watkins Glen con la 488 Challenge Evo
After only two weeks’ break, the DTM championship resumes with round three of the season at Zolder. Two Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020s, fielded by Red Bull Alpha Tauri AF Corse, will vie for a valuable result on the Belgian track.Zolder is seen as the home of the DTM, having hosted the first round of the series back in 1984. The DTM last came here in 2002. It is a fast and challenging track full of glamour and history, a little over 4 km long. It offers a mix of slow and ultra-fast turns, high kerbs, and very tight chicanes, demanding maximum driving precision, with no room for error. Once again, a limited audience of 5,000 will be present for all three days of the event.Liam Lawson will take the wheel of the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020 of Red Bull AF Corse. The New Zealander finished second in the previous round at Lausitzring, penalised by the Balance of Performance that left him with less power than his rivals. However, the result could have been better if he had not stalled during a pit stop in Race-2. Lawson will be keen to achieve a strong result for the championship in which he lies second in the overall standings, just four lengths behind Kelvin van der Linde.
Scuderia Ferrari Mission Winnow’s SF21 car that will race this season, was seen for the first time today and features a subtle livery that looks to the challenges of the future without forgetting the team’s roots and history. “The rear end is reminiscent of the burgundy red of the very first Ferrari, the 125 S,” explained Team Principal Mattia Binotto. “But as it moves gradually towards the cockpit area, it transforms into the modern red that we have used in most recent years. This season presents us with many challenges and through this livery, visually, we reboot from our past and head into the future.”The car. This car is the 67th to be built in Maranello to compete in the Formula 1 World Championship and is an evolution of last year’s SF1000, as dictated by the regulations, which require the use of the same chassis as in 2020, thus limiting the opportunities for change in many areas. Therefore, the SF21 was developed in all the permitted areas, from the engine, which is completely new, to the aerodynamics and, at the rear end, which is where the two development tokens allowed in the regulations have been used.Line-up. The SF21 makes its track debut tomorrow in Bahrain for a Filming Day, during which it can complete up to 100 kilometres for the purpose of acquiring film footage for team partners and media use. The Scuderia’s youngest driver line-up since 1968, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, will both drive. When the first race of the season takes place on 28 March, the pairing’s average age will be 25 years and 3 days. Before that, they will tackle the only 2021 pre-season test, getting to grips with the new car over three days at the Sakhir circuit.

Exactly 50 years on from the debut of the last spider in the Ferrari range to sport a front-mounted V12, the Ferrari 812 GTS hails a triumphant return for a model type that has played a pivotal role in the marque's history since its foundation.The Ferrari V12 spider story features many iconic models and began in 1948 with the 166 MM, an authentic thoroughbred competition GT that won the two most prestigious endurance races in the world in 1949: the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.The last in that long lineage was the 1969 365 GTS4, also known as the Daytona Spider because of Ferrari's legendary victory in the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona when two works 330 P4s and the NART-entered 412 P took the chequered flag side-by-side to occupy the top three places.The front-mounted V12 architecture has not been used in a Ferrari series-production spider since the 365 GTS4. That said, four special series limited editions have been launched: the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina in 2000, the Superamerica in 2005, the SA Aperta in 2010 and, most recently, the F60 America of which just 10 were built to celebrate Ferrari's 60th year on the American market in 2014.Like its historic predecessors, the 812 GTS sets a new benchmark in terms of performance and exclusivity. Sporting Ferrari's majestic 800 cv V12, it is not merely the most powerful production spider on the market, but also the most versatile, thanks to its retractable hard top, a unique feature in this segment which also guarantees a larger boot capacity.
