Dog Food Possibly Contaminated With Euthanasia Drug

A Dog food company is recalling it's products due to possible contamination with a euthanasia drug. According to CBS news, Evanger’s Dog & Cat Food is voluntarily recalling certain 12-ounce cans of its Hunk of Beef product. The move is in response to six animals which have fallen ill or died after eating the dog food. The illionis based company says the food may contain pentobarbital, a chemical that can result in death.

    16 states across the US broke a grim record on Friday, reporting their highest total of people hospitalized for COVID-19 since the pandemic began. The US Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization for two COVID-19 vaccines at the end of 2020. However, a slow rollout means it will be many months before all who want a vaccination are immunized.

    The US Food and Drug Administration has granted an emergency use authorization for an at-home Covid-19 test ki. The kit will be available as an over-the-counter item, and not require a prescription to purchase it. The LabCorp Pixel COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit will be available to anyone 18 and older. According to CNN, the kit uses nasal swab s to collect samples for testing. The samples are then sent to a LabCorp facility for testing. Positive or invalid results are delivered back to the consumer by phone or through a healthcare provider.
