Edutainment Circus in Kabul brings hope to children

Description

Kabul, Feb 18 (EFE/EPA).- An edutainment circus is bringing hope and joy for thousands of kids battered by an unending war in Afghanistan -- a country that has earned an epithet of being one of the most dangerous places on the planet for children.Six-year-old Ali Akbar is one of the junior-most members of the Afghan Educational Children’s Circus (AECC) that was founded in 2002 after the fall of the hardline Taliban regime that banned any sort of entertainment, including music and dance, because Islams prohibits it.Over the years, the circus has set up offices in 11 of the 34 Afghan provinces and enrolled over 2,500 members, in the age group of 5 to 18, most of them orphans and kids of internally displaced persons.(Camera: JAWAD JALALI)FOOTAGE SHOWS CHILDREN FROM THE AFGHAN EDUCATIONAL CHILDREN'S CIRCUS (AECC) IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN.
