Colombo, Apr 5 (EFE/EPA).- Chinese nationals residing in Sri Lanka on Monday received shots of China's Sinopharm vaccine in Colombo. Sri Lanka received 600,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine to be used to vaccinate the estimated 200,000 Chinese workers living in the country.Most in the Colombo district were informed to get their jabs at the newly constructed Port City complex.Sri Lanka’s National Medicine Regulatory Authority (NMRA) has approved the decision to bring in the Chinese vaccine. However, the regulatory body is yet to approve it for emergency use. A Chinese research vessel enters Sri Lanka's Chinese-run southern port of Hambantota despite concerns from India and the United States about its activities. The Yuan Wang 5 entered the port after securing permission to enter Sri Lankan waters on condition it will not engage in any research.
