    Panama City, Jul 21 (EFE).- The new trial against former Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli for the case of political espionage during his term (2009-2014) started on Wednesday in Panama City. Martinelli, who arrived at court with his defense calling this new trial a “political hoax,” attended Wednesday's retrial, after two previous absences alleging health reasons.He faced a new trial for political espionage, in which the Prosecutor's Office requests the maximum penalty of 8 years in prison, for the crimes charged.
