  • Guayaquil sends medical support to help fight COVID-19 in Quito

    Quito, Jun 30 (EFE).-The situation in the Ecuadorian capital has reached such an extreme leve that even the city of Guayaquil, which three months ago became the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in Ecuador, has offered to send medical personnel to help support the COVID-19 battle in the capital.On Tuesday, 21 doctors from the Municipal Hospital Bicentennial of Guayaquil arrived in Quito to help in the improvised medical center of the same name located in the capital. Guayaquil will also help support the capital with 80,000 units of medicines, personal protective equipment and 2,000 PCR tests.As of Tuesday, Quito has registered 6,571 coronavirus infections and 460 deaths.
