Alameda, Apr 24 (EFE/EPA).- The Alameda Food Bank in California is seeing a dramatic increase in demand as a large number of people have been laid off from businesses forced to close from the 'shelter-in-place' order to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.The Alameda Food Bank is a private, non-profit,agency founded in 1977 by a group of concerned local citizens with a goal to provide nutritious food to the low-income residents of the City of Alameda on a non-discriminatory basis.
