Hyundai Motor Company unveiled 45, an electric vehicle concept, at the 2019 International Motor Show (IAA) 2019 in Frankfurt. As an homage to its heritage and reimagined for the future, 45 foreshadows a new era of Hyundai's automotive design focused on electrification, autonomous technologies and intelligent design. The progressive 45 puts a twist on a 45-year-old icon, the Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept, to introduce an entirely new in-car experience for self-driving vehicles of tomorrow.Taking a look to the past is essential for moving forward, and the dramatic exterior styling of 45 excites the imagination and draws inspiration from the vehicle that first established Hyundai's design DNA, the 1974 Pony Coupe Concept. The iconic character of 45 is defined by its monocoque-style body, aerodynamic and light-weight design inspired by aircrafts from the 1920s. The car's name also owes itself in part to the 45-degree angles at the front and rear, forming a diamond-shaped silhouette that further foreshadows the design direction of future EV models. The new concept strips away complexity, celebrating the clean lines and minimalistic structure of the original coupe concept. Combining heritage with vision, 45 incorporates the evolution of Hyundai's 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language. 'Sensuous' stands for enhanced emotional values that customers can experience through design, and 'Sportiness' is determined to implement those values through innovative mobility solutions.

Hyundai Motor Company’s recreated Pony Coupe Concept has made its world premiere — nearly 50 years after its original debut — in Lake Como, Italy. Originally unveiled at the 1974 Turin Motor Show, the Pony Coupe Concept is an important vehicle in the company’s history and design heritage. Hyundai Motor unveiled the rebuilt Pony Coupe Concept at the inaugural Hyundai Reunion, a heritage brand platform that reflects on Hyundai Motor’s past and its future direction. Among the representatives present at the event were Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio Giugiaro, long time designer himself, to signal the previously announced restoration, completed by GFG Style, the style center that draws on the creative expertise of Fabrizio and Giorgetto, of the car that led to the creation of the brand’s seminal Pony line-up, Korea’s first independently developed mass-production models. Under the Pony Coupe Concept restoration project, Hyundai Motor Company has brought the original Pony Coupe Concept shown at the 1974 Turin Motor Show back to life. This restoration project is a testament to the spirit, daring passion and ambition that Hyundai employees and executives had to create a global brand with the Pony Coupe Concept at its forefront. With its unique aesthetic sensibility, the Pony Coupe Concept was a groundbreaking model in its time. Unfortunately, due to the adverse global economic conditions in the late 1970s, what could have been Hyundai’s first sensational sports car was unable to reach commercial production and was lost to history. Nevertheless, the concept embodies Hyundai’s bold determination to enter the sports-car sector for long-term leadership as an #automotive company – this spirit still underlies in Hyundai’s leadership in electrification and high-performance hydrogen technology.
A 100% electric car, with a brand vision in terms of range with over 700 km, little more than 10 minutes of charging time and energy consumption less than 10 kWh per 100 km.Lancia Pu+Ra HPE is the first car inspired by the world of furniture, thanks to the collaboration with Cassina, leader in the upscale furniture industry, for a typically Italian “home feeling” experience.Lancia Pu+Ra HPE is the first car equipped with the S.A.L.A. virtual interface that we will find on the new Ypsilon. And thanks to S.A.L.A, Lancia will be the first Stellantis brand to adopt Chameleon and TAPE (Tailored Predictive Experience) technologies, which centralize the audio, climate control and lighting functions, enabling the environment inside the car to be adapted at the touch of a button or by the sound of your voice.Lancia Pu+Ra HPE is the natural evolution of Lancia Pu+Ra Zero, displaying many of the features of the three-dimensional sculpture unveiled last November. The new Lancia concept car fully embodies the principles of the new design language of the brand, a pure and radical design language where the cars’ volumes are created from the intersection of elementary and iconic forms such as the circle and the triangle, combined with a few eclectic details. The new Lancia concept car therefore becomes an expression of the Italian timeless design, with a sustainable and innovative approach that goes beyond the typical automotive language. The concept car is named Lancia Pu+Ra HPE: “Pu+Ra” refers to the brand's new, pure and radical design language, while HPE stands for High Performance Electric, for a car that is Eco-sustainable, Exciting and Evolved, all at the same time. The acronym HPE was used for the first time in the 1970s for Lancia Beta, and stood for “High Performance Estate”, a symbol of sportiness and practicality.
