Helena Dalli, EU Commissioner for Equality: 'LGBT-free zones' in Poland are 'unacceptable'

Description

As the world marks “Global Pride” on June 27th, we speak to the EU’s first-ever Commissioner for Equality. Helena Dalli tells FRANCE 24 why Poland could lose some of its EU funding, if so-called “LGBT-free zones” set up by around a hundred Polish municipalities, are not banned. We also discuss racial discrimination in the EU – the Commissioner conceding that Europe still has work to do “to change attitudes, cultures, the way we look at these realities”, and that “legislation on its own is not enough”.
