Images show Berlin's Brandenburg Gate splattered with orange paint after activists from the "Last Generation" ("Letzte Generation") environmental collective spray-painted the six pillars of the emblematic monument to warn of the urgency of global warming and demand a change in the German government's policy. The movement is calling for a phase-out of fossil fuels by 2030 at the latest. Police arrested around ten activists near the gate, some of whom were still sitting on the ground, handcuffed. IMAGES
