First group of Nicaraguans leave Panama after authorization from Managua

David, Jul 3 (EFE) .- Panamanian authorities reported that around a hundred of the more than 1,000 Nicaraguans who have tried to leave Panama since Wednesday started their trip back to their country on Friday after the Nicaraguan government authorized their return.A total of 1,180 Nicaraguan stranded in Panama due to COVID-19 crisis arrived at Panama City's main bus station on Wednesday to return to Nicaragua in a caravan, but were unable to leave.The lack of prior coordination between Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama prevented the trip and generated a humanitarian crisis, since the migrants had to remained at the terminal since most have nothing left in Panama.(Camera: MARCELINO ROSARIO)FOOTAGE SHOWS THE GROUP OF NICARAGUANS BEGINING THEIR TRIP BACK TO THEIR COUNTRY.
